So, I was playing three months, I won Zagreb, Dubai, Rotterdam. Was playing final at Key Biscayne when I retired, was also in semis at Indian Wells, Antwerpen final, One after the other.
And two of those tournaments I tried to lose from the first round. So, I tried to lose on purpose, and it ended with me winning the tournament. I try to lose, and guy can't win. And then in second round I play against somebody not so good, I say to myself I won't lose to this guy and in the end I win the tournament.
Simply, you can't... You hit the ball, and whatever you play, it is in.
And then year happened when I lost first round matches. It was like this, you play on Monday and then not playing until Sunday. And then once more like that. You come on court and you are eager to escape as soon as possible. I play good in practice, winning, then the match comes and I simply can't do it.

And then in my mind I go back in ' and think hove nice it was to come on court knowing I was going to win.
Is there any rule that you learned out of it?
No rules. No rules because I can't say I didn't train well in . I trained good, but as I was entering the court, even before worming up, I was hoping for the hole to appear on the court for me to escape.
OK, but in the series of defeats, did you ask yourself 'what is going on, I know how to play...'?
Soon . came, and I lost in QUALIFICATIONS of Australian Open. At that time you ask yourself weather you will stop playing tennis, or change something. And what to change, when you didn't forget how to play, you now how to play? And then something in you makes the U-turn.
There is the rule, you must make U-turn?
To win Wimbledon after two months! It's not some rule. I can't understand it. Simply, it is hard to say it's about self confidence.
I mean, seven days prior to Wimbledon I played at s'Hertogenbosch. I didn't play spectacular tennis. I won against Hewitt, change racquets... I came at Wimbledon on Friday, start training with Zimonjic. I was training OK, I got into that 'click', but why I started to play good...?

I just felt it is it. First round was easy victory, not something to brag about. But in the second round I realised I can win this. I was playing better and better. On the court it just felt right. I had a tough draw, but I was just on the right course. And now, where is a rule in that...?
It seams to me the key word is U-turn?
Yes, you must make U-turn. But you can't just say I will make U-turn and make it happen. And I can't win against Cristiano Caratti three weeks before Wimbledon at Queen's, for crying out loud. Italian on grass!? I mean, I don't undermine anybody, but that guy really wasn't that special...
